Leona Lewis releases fastest selling single
Leona Lewis' new single 'Bleeding Love' has become the fastest selling
record in the UK this year.
'The X Factor' winner - who broke records with her debut single 'A Moment Like This' after she won the ITV reality show last year - is already outselling her biggest chart rivals Take That by two-to-one.
More than 3,000 people snapped up 'Bleeding Love' in the first hour after it had been released on Monday (22.10.07).
Record store HMV spokesperson Gennaro Castaldo said: "It's turning out to be a massive week for singles sales. 'Bleeding Love' is outselling Take That's 'Rule The World' by two-to-one and the rest of the top ten combined, and is on course to top 200,000 sales by the end of the week if stores can keep it in stock - it's without doubt the fastest-selling single of the year."
The 'Bleeding Love' video - which shows stunning Leona in curve-hugging Dolce and Gabanna dresses - is attracting an average of 150 views a minute worldwide on video sharing website YouTube.
The promo also received three million views online in the first 24 hours it was available.
If Leona is still number one when the top 10 selling singles in the UK are announced on Sunday (28.10.07), she will become the first 'The X Factor' winner to reach the top spot with a second single. |
Radiohead: 'Countdown site is a hoax'
Radiohead's spokesperson has told NME.COM that the site claiming to be counting down to information about the new album is a "hoax".
As previously reported, Radioheadlp7.com, is currently showing a countdown that will end tomorrow morning (September 29) at 8am.
However, a representative for the band has told us that it has "nothing to do with Radiohead".
Many fans believed the site was not for real, suggesting it might actually be a means to trick fans into giving away passwords.
It will be interesting now to see what the hoaxers will do when their countdown finally runs out in the morning.

Jamie T plays last show of the year at Reading
Jamie T played to a predictably packed tent on the NME/Radio 1 Stage tonight (August 26) at the Carling Weekend: Reading.
The Thamesbeat troubadour prompted a near crush in the tent as thousands of fans piled into the tent to catch the singer's final show of the year, and hundreds more lined up outside and watched his show on screens.
The VIP platform at the side of the stage was also stuffed, as the likes of Kelly Osbourne showed up to cheer Mr T on.
Opening with 'Brand New Bass Guitar', the singer delighted the crowd with a selection of tracks from his much-lauded debut 'White Socks Black Shoes', with 'Back In The Game' inspiring a massive sing-a-long.
He played:

'Operation'

'If You Got The Money'
'Pacemaker'
'Back In The Game'
'Calm Down Dearest'
