Vagrant Spawns Density, Signs I Hate Sally
Vagrant has announced they will launch Density, a new heavy music imprint that will house the same staff but focus on the darker side of rock. The first release is I Hate Sally, a thrash metal band from Ontario that will release their US debut, Don't Worry Lady June 12. With the creation of Density, the staff now feels they have the freedom to sign a wider array of artists.
"We already have some bands that are pretty damn heavy, but creating Density gives us the latitude to put out just about anything that comes from the metal or heavy music community," says label Vice President and Co-Founder Jon Cohen. "It's another way for us to grow the company without compromising Vagrant's core identity. I Hate Sally is just the first of many great bands we look to work with through this new venture."
I Hate Sally formed in 2001 and previously released a full-length album in Canada on the Toronto based label Underground Operations. The band will kick off their first major tour of the US with Atlanta punk band the Chariot in May.

Lollapalooza goes global?
Legendary US rock festival Lollapalooza may go global within the next decade.
Festival founder Perry Farrell, who fronted legendary alternative rockers Jane's Addiction and now heads up Satellite Party, expressed the desire to bring the festival to a world stage.
"I'm going to look to take it global," Farrell told MTV.com.
"I want to put together an event around the world in the next 10 years that will refashion, redress, and transform. It's something I'm looking into now, and if it happens, it will happen quick. That's my ambition," he said.
Lollapalooza travelled across the United States in the 1990s, but currently stays put in one location for three days.
This year's festival is set to take place August 3-5 in Chicago's Grant Park. Headliners include Interpol, Muse, Modest Mouse, Daft Punk and Kings of Leon, as previously announced. |

10cc/Godley & Creme legends Kevin Godley and Graham Gouldman, under the guise of GG06, have recorded and released their sixth new track "Barry's Shoes" now available for download from the duo's official website www.gg06.co.uk.
In 2006, for the first time in over three decades original 10cc members Godley and Gouldman reunited to record new music.
Best known for such classic 10cc hits as "Rubber Bullets", "I'm Not In Love" and "Things We Do For Love", as well as Godley and Creme's mega-hit "Cry", last year Godley and Gouldman recorded five new download-only songs which have garnered rave reviews from fans and critics alike worldwide! |
