New Kula Shaker album announced Kula Shaker have announced they are to release a new album in August. 'Strangefolk' will be out on August 27. It's the band's first LP since 1999's 'Peasants, Pigs And Astronauts'. A single, 'Second Sight' will precede the LP's release on August 13. Phil Spector trial: Day 53 Phil Spector's lead lawyer, Bruce Cutler, abruptly announced today (August 27) that he is leaving the famed music producer's case. Cutler, who has frequently been missing in action during the trial so he could film a television show, cited "a difference of opinion between Mr. Spector and me on strategy." Cutler told Superior Court Judge Larry Paul Fidler that he had originally intended to return for the closing arguments, but changed his mind, saying, "There's nothing I can do for Mr. Spector. I can no longer effectively represent him." When the judge asked Spector if Cutler's statements were accurate, Spector replied, "That is correct." Defence attorney Roger Rosen will now take over as the lead lawyer in the case, reports the Associated Press. Spector is accused of murdering actress Lana Clarkson at his Los Angeles mansion on February 3, 2003. The defence contends the actress' death was suicide. Testimony in the case is expected to end this week. Final arguments are set for September 5. |
