The Police reunite in Vancouver

The Police began their reunion tour last night, with a low-key preview show in Vancouver tonight (May 28).

The rock legends began their reunion tour with a club show at the city's GM Place in front of 4,000 fan club members.

Sting, drummer Stewart Copeland and guitarist Andy Summers are heading out on their first major tour together for 21 years, and will visit the UK in September.

But Summers has warned that some old favourites may not sound quite the same as fans remember them.

He told the Vancouver Sun: "We've got all these famous songs, but we look at them like new pieces of material. To a point, we've reworked them, but obviously all the famous riffs are there. You can't play 'Every Breath You Take' without me playing that guitar, obviously."

The guitarist continued: "We constantly fiddle with them, but because they're alive, they're living, they're not dead. We spent the last two months re-arranging and fiddling around until we felt it was good. (There is) some intensity in the songs that may transcend the original recorded versions."
Google On The Radio

A multi-year agreement was announced this morning between Google and Clear Channel Radio (CCR) providing the search engine giant with 30-second ad spots spread out among CCR's 675-plus stations across the country. Google will in turn make these spots available to potential advertisers who wish to reach certain demographics at certain times via radio. Although financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, according to a press release, Google will focus on bringing online advertisers in who are looking to expand into radio.

"Today's announcement of a strategic multi-year agreement with Clear Channel Radio, the largest radio station group owner in the US, is an important milestone for us," Scott Silverman, Strategic Partner Development Manager posted on the official Google blog this morning. "Since radio advertising is new for Google, we're excited to be able to learn from and collaborate with the market leader and ultimately bring more value to radio."
Busta Rhymes Arrested For Drunk Driving

Busta Rhymes was arrested on a drunken driving charge early this morning (May 3) in New York, police said, marking the latest in a series of recent legal troubles for the rapper.

Officers stopped Rhymes at about 12:40 a.m. because the sport utility vehicle he was driving had overly tinted windows, Sgt. Mike Wysokowski said. He said officers then smelled alcohol on the rapper's breath.

Rhymes, 34, was taken into custody on a charge of driving while impaired, Wysokowski said. An arraignment was expected later today. A lawyer for Rhymes, Scott Leemon, declined to comment, saying he would address the charges in court.

Rhymes, whose real name is Trevor Smith, has had several law enforcement run-ins since last year. He is tentatively scheduled to go to trial Tuesday on two assault charges.
